A contact lens fitting is an important part of contact lens care. A professional should be consulted for the most comfortable and effective fit. There are a few basic steps to follow when fitting a contact lens: determining the size of the lens, selecting the correct lens type, checking for fit, and adjusting if necessary.
An accurate measurement of the eye is necessary in order to select the proper contact lens size. At Royalight Optometrist, we provide full assessment of your eye to make sure the best fit for your contact lenses.
Visual acuity
Assessment for the clarity of distance and near eyesight. This gives us a general view of how well you see and your eye health.
Prescription test
We check the eye alignment for any deviations that may cause discomfort in vision. It allows us to detect any squint (heterotropia) or dissociation of eyes when not focusing (heterophoria).
front eye health
We perform checks on the full frontal of your eye which includes: cornea, eyelids, eye lashes, the tear film, crystalline lens and the white area of your eye.
Contact lens fitting
Our retinas are the sensors of our eyes, they capture light and allow us to see. We assess the retina to ensure that there is no damage to your retina.

Everyone is unique and have different lifestyles. We will provide a detailed explanation of your eyes catered to you.

Today was my first visit to Royalight Optometrist upon recommendation. Very impressed with the extensive eye examinations done for me by Zac. He's very professional, patient and explains in details to his customer. As a high myopia person, I appreciate the full and comprehensive suite of eye check services they provide. You can't find another similar place with the state- of -art equipment like theirs! In addition, a detailed report will be emailed to the customer after the visit, which is rare to have in the market.

I decided to visit Royalight Optometrist, from the other side of the island, after seeing the great reviews of the place on google. I came with my 3y old son for his very first eye tests, and had such a great experience. Zac is fantastic, he’s obviously very used to handling young kids, and turns every test into a game. I highly recommend to parents for pediatric eye checks.

Staff there were kind and welcoming. Took the time to find the right frame for me. Today we had an appointment with optometrist Zac for my 4-year-old daughter, and I can’t speak highly enough of the experience. Despite us arriving quite late, Zac welcomed us with such understanding and kindness. He was absolutely amazing with my daughter — patient, gentle, and incredibly engaging. He took the time to make her feel comfortable and even managed to turn what could have been a stressful situation into something fun and positive for her. Also the two other female colleagues who entertained my girl while Zac explained to me about her test results. Zac and his team definitely cares about young patients and goes the extra mile to make sure both the child and the parent feel at ease. We’re so grateful for the overall professionalism and warmth. I like the most they are not selling any of the product. They will just recommend eye care steps based on your situation. I sought Royalight Optometrist for my 4 year old's son eye check as he was blinking frequently. The booking of appointment was fuss-free and the actual appointment itself, Zac the optometrist was very patient and engaging to get my son to cooperate. The processes were very thorough and I got a detailed report emailed to me including management recommendations. My daughter also went for the checks and it was equally smooth-sailing as well. Our daughter was having double vision out of the blue and I chanced upon Royalight Optometrist on google. I noticed that they offered paediatric eye screening so we made our way down. Zac and partner were friendly and Zac did the eye checks for my daughter. He used a variety of tools and methods for the checks to assess her condition which she felt comfortable with and he was really patient so she cooperated well - on normal days, our daughter would be a very difficult patient, but we are glad Zac remained cheerful and understanding throughout. The tests were done professionally and efficiently and I felt relieved her diagnosis could be done at such a quick turnaround. We would highly recommend Royalight!

We are so blessed to have found Royalight in the process of trying to understand and address our 6 year old son's squint (exotropia) condition. After seeing several eye doctors in hospitals, we were told that his condition was too serious and the best option for him was surgery, but even then the long term success rate is not that high. Discouraged by the news but not wanting to give up, we searched for vision therapy options and discovered Royalight through all their excellent reviews, and the fact that they are in our neighbourhood rather than downtown, where many other specialists are.
Our phone enquiry was answered by Yvette, and she gave us the most patient and detailed explanation we had encountered. Upon visiting Royalight, our son was examined for more than an hour using a variety of equipment, and I was so impressed by how Yvette and Zac managed to get him to cooperate enthusiastically through the whole process, with their encouraging words and gentle examination.
They came to the same conclusion as the doctors we had seen (that he had almost no control over his exotropia), which satisfied me that all the specialists we had seen were equally professional.
But the biggest difference is that they patiently listened to our desire for vision therapy rather than surgery, and after some further discussions and examinations, we discovered that our son could actually perform some of the tests he had earlier failed, when given instructions that he could understand better. While this was only our first consultation, we came out of it with a much greater understanding of this condition, thanks to Yvette and Zac's willingness to listen to us and probe beyond the typical testing processes.
Singapore's healthcare system is indeed very professional and advanced, but Royalight provided us a service that went beyond just professionalism. They were compassionate, attentive, honest in giving us the hard truths, but also willing to explore exhaustively all the possible paths forward. It would be great if our son's condition improves with vision therapy, but even if it doesn't and surgery is indeed needed, we are already immensely grateful for the care given to us at Royalight.

Today, we took our 7-year-old son to Royalight Optometrist for an eye examination, and Zac was incredibly thorough, spending nearly 1.5 hours to ensure our son received a comprehensive check-up and explaining all the options available to us. As older parents, we do have to be mindful of costs, and Zac’s kindness in offering us a generous discount truly touched us. It meant our son could get the care he needed without the added financial worry. The level of care, empathy, and dedication at Royalight Optometrist is something we deeply appreciate. We were not expecting much at first, but decided to give it a try after reading the google reviews. True enough to the reviews, Zac is patient with kids and has a hand with them (mine especially) who asked a lot of questions. He managed to do a comprehensive eye check and provided more insights to my son's eye health than I expected. The charges is very reasonable, no hard selling of any products, neither did Zac asked us for a google review, I am doing this review because I really appreciate his ability and patience.

Did a paediatric eye examination and comparing to KKH, i felt this was even more child friendly. My daughter did not feel any discomfort or nervousness throughout eye examination. the report and explanation was very thorough. Would definitely recommend to come here as the price is comparable to KKH, but KKH's waiting time for eye check is 6 months atleast.

I randomly found this place through a google search for BVD assessment. Incredibly impressed and surprised at the level of detail and care they took. When it was assessed that I do not have BVD, Yvette extended a full eye examination. I learnt so much about my eye health and current situation, and she also shared what developments I should expect with as I age. I found Royalight through Google to do a full eye examination after experiencing increased eye strain. I've never gotten a full eye exam done before, and I felt like the one they helped me with was quite comprehensive. We ran through the tests as described on their website, and I appreciated very much their in-depth explanations of the results and what each test was checking for.
They helped me diagnose some problematic features of my eyes and offered some solutions. I was happy that some of the sources of my discomfort recently could be found, and I am hopeful that their proposed solutions can help me feel better.
At the very least, for the price of $88 for a full eye examination, I got to learn more about how my eyes worked, the specifications of my current eyes and the problems they present, as well as potential solutions to improve my quality of life. I'm very happy with how this appointment went.

Amazing experience!! Yvette, the optometrist, was very thorough and explained everything nicely. Yvette guided me patiently through the entire process to make sure I was giving my responses as accurately as possible. She was very thorough and made sure my report was explained clearly to me, even while attending to other customers that had started to enter the store (my appointment ended up taking almost 3 hours instead of 45 minutes).
I ended up getting a BVD diagnosis, which had been previously missed out and/or dismissed by optometrists and opticians over the years. I am very happy with my new spectacles and will be returning for sure! 🤠

My hub and I were referred to them by a close friend. They started off asking questions before going down to doing many eye test, some I didn't even know exist LOL. They explain what tests they going to do and the kind of slight discomfort we may feel, so felt very assuring. Sat us down to show the result. I was even showed video of my eyes that confirmed their diagnosis of my dry eyes.
I don't get teary eyes within 2 days of using the eye gel and drops that were recommended.
They even did a super fast delivery so we could get it in time for our biz presentation.

Brought my 1 year old son for his first pediatric eye check which was a really pleasant experience! The eye check up was really extensive and they did as much checks as they could without my son feeling stressed or fussy. Yvette was a savior, and I can't thank her enough. A few weeks ago, I started seeing everything blurry, and my old glasses just weren't working anymore. I went to some expensive eye specialists, paid $1200 for an eye checkup and a new prescription, but that new prescription was a disaster for me. Was having some trouble with my eyes, namely bright lights hurt them and my left eye especially was easily strained. Wanted to do an eye check and came across Royalight during my Google search. The reviews were positive and was intrigued that they apparently do comprehensive eye check that a normal eyewear store doesn't. I've always thought I have perfect eyesight because my vision test is often 6/6 but upon checking I realized I do have prescription. Yvette was the one who attended to me and she was very sweet and nice and explained things clearly. Zac, who attended to my best friend, was also just as pleasant, patient and comprehensive. In the end, for the sake of my eye health, I got my first prescribed glasses ever but which I'll only use for work ?

Very surprised how well they managed with my boy as my boy usually won't sit thruout the test. And my boy loves red and red spectacles really difficult to find but thankfully their shop has it! We had a wonderful experience with Zac for our 4yo daughter's first eye check up. Very impressed with his many distraction methods, that she managed to complete the entire eye check up with ease and no fuss, she wasn't even intimidated by any of the equipment used. Appreciate the small efforts like giving stickers in the middle of the check up to encourage her on. We received her report promptly and the exam was reasonably priced. I m so glad I chose this based on the Google reviews here and will continue to come back to monitor her progress and will not hesitate to recommend families with kids to come! My daughter even said that she wants to come back here again! Thank you Zac and his partner for today!

I brought my daughter to Royalight after reading good reviews. Indeed, they didn’t disappoint. Yvette did a comprehensive eye check for my gal. Turns out she didn’t have myopia just slight astigmatism , contrary to what HPB found. I’m glad I took her to a professional instead of a random retail shop who probably will get her to wear glasses unnecessarily. Yvette also noticed that my gal was rubbing her eyes often, did some tests and found that 2 of her eyelashes are touching her eyes, causing the discomfort and rubbing! I did some tests too and got answers to root causes to my occasional blurry vision and achy eye. Overall I’m very satisfied with the results as it gave me answers to more than I had anticipated. Definitely will recommend Royalight to family and friends.

We brought our child for a proper eye examination, and Zac was most patient, thorough and friendly. Our child felt at ease with him and the whole experience (from eye examination to collection of the new spectacles) was a very professional and pleasant one. The team was prompt in providing the report and updates too, and our child will be following up with the team for regular monitoring. Honestly didn't know the glasses that I have been wearing is actually over-prescribed until I got my eye examined here! Dr. Zac Poo is INCREDIBLE!!! We found him on google and chose to go to him for our 2 young kids because of his previous reviews. Our 4 year old was scared and had her big brother aged 6 go first. He is fun, patient and had the best little tricks to distract them. I was ready to chime in to calm my littles, but he needed no help from me! He was so great and through that my husband and I got our eyes checked after our kids! He was able to detect my husbands high blood pressure by the health of his eye, and give me an explanation about my life long eye issues! I was blown away and will never see another eye dr in Singapore! You, your children, and family are in safe hands with him.

Excellent service by Zac and Yvette for my eye examination. Found Royalight Optometrist online and booked an appointment. Welcomed with a courteous and friendly Yvette and examined by a patient and professional Zac. The examination was conducted thoroughly (relative to other places I have been to) with careful consideration of my medical history and latest prescriptions, offering me a peace of mind in the reliability of the results. I am very pleased with Royalight Optometrist! Brought my 4yo son to get his eyes checked as he was squinting when seeing things from far, and putting his face very close to the table while writing/reading. Royalight provides pediatric eye exam and Zac has been extremely patient and friendly who doesn’t rush through it at all. When the results came out that my son’s eyesight was very bad, he wrote us a referral and suggested us to go to the poly clinic to get another referral to KKH/SNEC for further checks. When we finally got the prescription, we headed down to Royalight again to do some final checks before getting his specs done. Knowing that my son’s eyesight was really bad and needed it urgently, Zac expedited it and the specs were ready in 3 days. I am extremely pleased with Royalight optometrist and would recommend to anyone especially for children!

The eye examination was really extensive and nothing like the others, definitely worth it. I learned a lot from the optometrist as Yvette explained patiently and was very detailed. I was recommended to this optometrist by a friend. I had perfect eyesight but deteriorating of late. I did the comprehensive eyecheck tests with them which was very thorough. Yvette explained each procedure clearly which made the process very comfortable and seamless. She is very experienced, and patiently explained the results of the tests and answered my queries well. Yvette, an optometrist attended to me. I wanted a routine eye inspection for glaucoma and other eye function/ health screen. The vision test carried out was quite comprehensive. Yvette is friendly and patient and she explained many useful things to me. In the end I decided to also upgrade to a new pair of glasses. I strongly recommend anyone who has similar needs to check them out. There is ample carpark in the basement of the building.

Made an appointment for eye health check with Yvette and the entire experience was great! Yvette is very detailed with the checks, took all my questions with lots of patience which I appreciated. Lastly, I really like the fact that they don’t hard sell for the optical products after the examination, I was given time to consider my options after the checks. Personally, I found the price of the eye health check to be reasonable. Trustworthy, caring, and professional optometrist!

Came for an eye test and color vision test. Yvette was really nice and accommodating, even helped look through my previous prescriptions and helped me understand what all the different things meant. She even showed me how I was actually wearing over corrected prescriptions and explained the long term effects which my previous opticians hadn’t informed me of. The whole check up was detailed yet fast as well, and all at quite a cheap price. Definitely a place I would recommend if anyone wants to have their eyes checked.

Having been to a few optical shops in Singapore, to me Royalight stands out in their excellent customer service, great store experience and knowledgable staff. When I came into the store, I was warmly welcomed by the owner & there's snacks, sweets & water on the table near the entrance. Got an eye check for my cornea, was impressed by how the 3D map shows the shape and curvature of my cornea. Highly recommended!

I wanted to purchase a new pair of glasses as mine were some years old and was due for an eye test in case my degree changed. Decided to visit Royalight Optometrist and was very impressed with their services! Their eye tests were very detailed - they informed me of my overall eye health, and what I could do to improve it. A normal shop would usually just check your degree and astigmatism but not here! I highly recommend people to give these guys a try, whether it is to purchase eye wear or just curious to find out more about their eye health!

They will also provide appropriate advice on eye health for you and your family members, if relevant like me (suspected Glaucoma). The personalised eye examination report that they provide via email after the visit is a plus point for me as well. i drive a lot for my work but my vision at night isn’t very clear. The glasses i was previously wearing did help a bit but i still find the streetlights/headlights glaring. I came to Royalight for a full eye check and found that my high astig was the cause. Zac was really friendly and informative and he recommended me a special tinted lens meant for driving at night usage. It is clear and very comfortable, and a lot less glaring. Recommend!

A friend recommended me to Royalight Optometrist. She had mention that they do comprehensive eye tests and they were really detailed in explaining the findings. I had recently brought my kid down just for a check as they currently have a promotion for kids. Turns out, my daughter’s right eye was a lazy eye! She has been relying only on a left eye to see and no one has noticed it, my daughter wouldn’t have known until the check. So thankful to the optometrists at Royalight as they have been following up with us ever since. My daughter’s lazy eye is getting better with the management and therapy. I can’t thank them enough!
